Turning Troublemakers into Trouble-Solvers

"No matter how it looks at first, it’s always a people problem."

– Gerald Weinberg

Definition: Troublemaker
Bullies people and winning is everything.

Story: Howard the Horrid: belittled others, took unearned credit, lied, withheld information, made sure others would fail, and invaded others' personal space. It took time, but after a heavy dose of mayhem, Howard was given an important and lone assignment with no staff reporting directly to him.

Nugget: The bullies who are beyond redemption (and they often are) should be moved out or isolated.

“When another person makes you suffer, it is because he suffers deeply within himself, and his suffering is spilling over. He does not need punishment; he needs help. That's the message he is sending.”
